Instrumental Concert

On December 10th, the Instrumental Concert performed a show-stopping performance.

Hayden interviewed Mayre Damour and Nathan (he preferred not to give his last name). Mayre was one of the violinists who performed in the concert, and Nathan was a clarinetist in the advanced jazz band.

Interviewer: What was your favorite part?

Mayre: My favorite part was when we got on stage because I gained some confidence. I knew that I could play well.

Nathan: One of my favorite parts was when the advanced orchestra played.

Interviewer: What was the first thing you did?

Mayre: We went into the chorus room and started to tune our instruments.

Nathan: We played and practiced for the first 20 minutes, then we tuned our instruments.

Interviewer: Were you at nervous at all?

Mayre: Yes, I was very nervous because it was my first time performing.

Nathan: My nerves were on and off the whole time.

Interviewer: When did those nerves calm down?

Mayre: I was nervous the whole time, even after I left.

Nathan: My nerves calmed after I had performed.

Interviewer: What was your favorite song?

Mayre: My favorite song was Rock Ballad. You might think it is simple but we added dynamics to is so it was really interesting.

Nathan: My favorite song was Chattanoga Cho-cho.

Interviewer: How long have you been playing your instrument?

Mayre: I have been playing the violin ever since I was 6. I stopped playing it for 2-3 years and started again in 4th grade.

Nathan:I have been playing the clarinet since 4th grade, I am in 8th grade now.

Congrats to everybody that performed! Make sure you check out the next concert (If they have one).

School Play

At the beginning of December, the school cast and crew performed three amazing shows. The name of the play was I Hate Shakespeare. The show was about how people think Shakespeare is irrelevant and nobody understands him nowadays, but it turns out that later in the show if you try, you will understand that Shakespeare’s work is actually meaningful and valuable. Next show, these wonderful cast and crew will put on, “Frozen Jr.” The musical will be performed in Spring. Come and see it on April 24th and 25th!\
