Recipe: Homemade applesauce

Applesauce is part of everybody’s childhood, and it most likely is tied with great memories. Everybody likes the smooth texture and the comforting taste of sweet apples. However, like every single food, the only thing better than applesauce is homemade applesauce. The little amount of lemon juice doesn’t make the applesauce sour, but it gives it a flavorful kick. The brown sugar makes the color rich and isn’t too sweet at the same time. Get ready to have your mouth water over this amazing recipe for homemade applesauce!

 

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 apples

  • ½ cup apple juice, apple cider, or water

  • ½ tablespoon of lemon juice

  • ¼ cup of brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon

  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg (optional, but recommended)

  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon (optional, but recommended)

 

Procedures:

  • Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized pot

  • Put it on low to medium heat for about 30 minutes, don’t be afraid to mash it up with a hand whisk

  • Pour into blender or food processor and blend until desired texture

  • Store in refrigerator for up to 1-2 hours

  • Enjoy!
